But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold (Job 23:10).
Job endured tremendous emotional pain and physical affliction. His troubles were not only known to God but were allowed by God. Losing his sons and daughters and possessions left Job feeling very much alone. He looked at his situation from every possible angle trying to find God.
Every gold mine is hidden beneath the earth. Mining priceless jewels takes many hours of painstaking labor. Tons of earth must be removed to find the gold.
In the same way, a gold mine is buried beneath your flesh. Crucifying your flesh is excruciating, but it must occur to reveal the priceless jewels within you. Give God digging rights. After all, the mine belongs to Him. Allow Him to dig deeply and bring out buried treasure.
The devil knows you’re a gold mine waiting to be claimed and mined. Your adversary has covered your priceless jewels with your past unconfessed sins, emotional traumas, and religious tradition. The devil knows that you have been buried alive. You merely need the Spirit to move, and the Word uncovers you. You are Heaven’s best-kept secret and hell’s worst nightmare.
We can attain a place in God that is higher than our problems, giving us a divine perspective. We must be led to this place. It is against our nature to want this rock. We must oppose our flesh and say, “When my spirit is overwhelmed, my spirit goes beyond nature and finds satisfaction only in the supernatural.” We ask God to do something our flesh does not want: to lead us to the rock--Jesus-- and away from earthly logic.
